What a sprint it's been!

I think I see what everyone means when they say that watch collecting can be an addiction; 1.5 months into this hobby and 7 watches later. That being said, most of my pieces are fairly inexpensive, my most expensive watch by far is the Trafford I picked up 2nd hand off a buddy for $500.

I wanted to try a bit of everything and I think I've done that; I've got digital, mechanical, automatic, new pieces, 2nd hand pieces, 1 vintage piece, all in a variety of styles and dial colors.

I think I'm done collecting for now, and I like to be a bit more picky moving forward. Some pieces I'm eyeing moving forward include:

  • Seiko Alpinist

  • Hamilton Khaki

And some more attainable yet aspirational pieces are:

  • Junghans Max Bill

  • Oris Big Crown Pointer Date

I'd love to hear your thoughts and suggestions!

### **Breakdown by Watch Collection Metrics**

- **Brand (7.0/10)** - *Weight: 10%*

The collection includes recognized and respected names, with Seiko, Casio, and Tissot lending credibility and a sense of reliability. However, brands like Sugess and Sternglas cater more to niche enthusiasts, and Trafford is relatively obscure.

- **History & Innovation (6.5/10)** - *Weight: 10%*

Watches like the Sugess Seagull 1963 and Riley Howard Hughes Chronograph carry significant historical references. Casio contributes innovation with its digital model, but overall, the collection lacks pioneering pieces or groundbreaking innovations.

- **Rarity (6.8/10)** - *Weight: 10%*

Limited-edition models and heritage-inspired pieces like the Seagull 1963 provide a degree of rarity, though most watches are generally accessible. The collection leans toward classic, obtainable designs rather than high scarcity.

- **Material (6.3/10)** - *Weight: 10%*

Materials are standard, with stainless steel cases and mineral crystals. The overall quality is consistent with entry-level pieces, though the Seiko Presage stands out with its textured dial and improved finishing.

- **Movement (6.0/10)** - *Weight: 10%*

The collection has a balanced range of quartz, automatic, and manual movements, with notable models like the Seagull 1963 showcasing a hand-wound chronograph. However, the overall movement complexity is relatively straightforward.

- **Versatility (7.2/10)** - *Weight: 10%*

This collection covers a range of styles suitable for different occasions, from digital to vintage to dress. The Casio A700WEV-7AVT and Tissot Two Timer offer casual versatility, while the Seiko Presage and Sternglas bring dress appeal.

- **Complications (6.5/10)** - *Weight: 10%*

The collection’s complication diversity includes chronographs, multifunction, and simple time/date. Though varied, most complications are straightforward, with no high-complexity functions.

- **Functions (6.8/10)** - *Weight: 10%*

Casio’s A700WEV-7AVT and Tissot’s multifunctional features enhance practicality. The collection generally provides adequate functionality for daily wear but lacks more specialized features like high water resistance or advanced chronograph features.

- **Dials & Design (7.5/10)** - *Weight: 10%*

Designs are a collection highlight, with a mix of retro, minimalist, and classic styles. The Seiko Presage Cocktail Time’s dial is especially striking, while models like the Sugess Seagull and Riley Howard Hughes add vintage charm.

- **Cohesiveness (6.5/10)** - *Weight: 10%*

While varied, the collection is unified by an accessible approach to classic and vintage-inspired designs. However, the digital Casio and multifunction Trafford create minor stylistic outliers within this theme.

- **Historical References**: Models like the Sugess Seagull 1963 and Riley Howard Hughes bring an appealing historical element, adding depth and story to the collection.

### **Potential Areas for Improvement**
